MLB News: The Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox both utilized outfielder Raimel Tapia on their big league roster this season. He appeared in 39 games for the Red Sox and 20 for the Brewers. Both of his tenures ended in designations for assignments and he now has signed with this third team this season.

Former Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox Outfielder Raimel Tapia signs with the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB News).
The Rays announced that Raimel Tapia has been signed to a minor league contract. He hasn’t had a consistent stretch of games in the minor leagues since 2018 for his skill set of contact at the plate and speed has resulted in regular MLB contracts.
At 29 years old and eight years of big league experience Raimel Tapia has a career .273/.318/.388 line. Despite the relatively high batting average he has just a career 82 OPS+. Despite his great speed he is rated as an average defender and is not known as a base stealing threat.
For now Raimel Tapia will serve as a depth signing for the Rays in which they are gearing up for a post season run. Should an injury arise he could easily be the first person that Tampa Bay turns to. With the trade deadline in the past having an experienced veteran in your system does have some good value.
