The Milwaukee Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder may be in an NBA trade rumor for a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster deal in the distant future. Milwaukee has to see how this 2023-2024 season plays out before anything else happens, and it appears as if Oklahoma City is knocking on the door with all of the young talent they have to contend again in the Western Conference.

The Bucks have won an NBA championship in 2021 over the Phoenix Suns in six games and haven’t won a title since. Giannis Antetokounmpo wants this franchise to be committed to winning another championship, or it is possible he could bolt because Antetokounmpo has yet to sign a contract extension even though he has a couple of years left on his current deal.

Ishaan Bhattacharya of Fadeaway World proposed a trade between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks would get a massive haul back from the Thunder, and it would include Chet Holmgren, Cason Wallace, Davis Bertans, Ousmane Dieng, a 2024 Clippers First-Round Pick, a 2025 Thunder First-Round Pick, a 2026 Clippers First-Round Pick, and a 2027 Thunder First-Round Pick.

All Oklahoma City would be getting back in this trade is Giannis Antetokounmpo. A potential big three of him, Josh Giddey and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could be one of the best big three in the NBA, and it would make the Thunder instant title contenders.

General manager Sam Presti is one of the best in the NBA, and he has accumulated all of these draft picks over the years in the NBA, and this would come at a perfect time to trade.

Giannis Antetokounmpo being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Oklahoma City Thunder Would Be a Fascinating Story If It Actually Happened

The Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks are two of the teams in the NBA that are linked to landing Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade. The Oklahoma City Thunder are the wild card in this situation because they have the draft picks to acquire him that the Knicks and the Lakers do not. The Bucks would get a solid young haul in return for him.

    One NBA executive said:

“No one would be in a better position to go after him than OKC. Not to say they would, but they’d have to be a starting point. They have the young talent, they have, I think nine (first-round) picks in the next three years. If Milwaukee decides, OK, we’ve got to move on here, that is the first team you call. There aren’t many guys who are going to make the Thunder think about a big move, packaging the assets. But Giannis is one, if he’d want to go there.”

Chet Holmgren was a second-overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga. He missed all of last season with a foot injury, and will see what he does this season with the Thunder. Holmgren has potential, but the Bucks landing him in a trade for the Thunder would reset the clock because he is only 21 years old and won’t be 22 until after the season.

Cason Wallace is only 19 years old and is another young player that the Bucks would need for the future if they went in this direction. It would break the internet if Giannis Antetokounmpo was traded away from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
