Throughout his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, All-Star wing Khris Middleton has built a reputation of excellence and performance, especially when he became a champion in 2021. Just recently, though, the All-Star wing has revealed his political stance in a recent rally he attended.
The Milwaukee Bucks organization has a long history of political engagement, and this tradition continued as the team’s key figures attended a rally with Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz at the Fiserv Forum.
Bucks president Peter Feigin and star player Khris Middleton were both present at the event, underscoring the franchise’s close ties to the Democratic party. Feigin, in particular, has been an outspoken advocate for social justice causes.
The Bucks’ political involvement dates back to the team’s previous ownership under the late Herb Kohl, a longtime Democratic senator who committed $100 million to the construction of Fiserv Forum and kept the franchise in Milwaukee despite lucrative offers to relocate.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Khris Middleton Reveals Political Stance in Latest Move
A few days ago, Harris held a rally at the Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks. More details about the event were shared by Drake Bentley and Mary Spicuzza for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, including the attendance of both Middleton and Feigin.
“Harris spoke to more than 15,000 people at Fiserv Forum, and briefly addressed the Democratic National Convention in Chicago where headliners were former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama,” the article stated.
During the 2020 pandemic, Bucks players also participated in protests against police violence, and the team even refused to take the court for a playoff game in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.
The Bucks have also met with President Joe Biden on multiple occasions, including a White House visit to celebrate their NBA championship in 2021. Middleton, who missed that trip due to a positive COVID-19 test, later had the opportunity to meet the President when he visited Milwaukee earlier this year.
The Bucks’ continued political engagement underscored the team’s deep roots in the local community and its willingness to use its platform to address important social and political issues. As the 2024-25 season approaches, key members of the team and their involvement in the Harris-Walz rally suggested that this tradition of civic engagement will continue.
