The Milwaukee Bucks may have been sent home after the first round of each of the two previous NBA Playoffs, but their NBA Championship window is still open. For the time being, at least. Indeed, their goal for the 2024-25 season should be nothing short of bringing home another title to the city of Milwaukee. Anything less than that will be a massive disappointment.
This is, of course, because they have two of the 75 greatest players in NBA history on their roster in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Unfortunately, neither star was healthy for their series loss to the Indiana Pacers with Giannis missing the entire series with a soleus strain.
As usual, when the season ended, there were some who wondered if the greatest player in franchise history would request a trade. Of course, Giannis did not do that, nor will he. However, recent trades during the NBA Draft have led many to wonder what Milwaukee could get for Giannis if they ever did trade him.
NBA Analyst Wonders if the Milwaukee Bucks Could Get 10 First-Round NBA Draft Picks for Giannis Antetokounmpo

On the first night of the 2024 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks sent five first round picks (four unprotected picks and one protected pick) to the Brooklyn Nets for Miles Bridges. It was an extraordinarily high price, especially for a player that has yet to make a single NBA All-Star team. Still, the Knicks have as good of a roster as any in the NBA and feel like their own championship window is open.
Since Bridges cost the Knicks five first round picks, many wondered what a legitimate NBA superstar like Giannis would fetch on the trade market.
During an appearance on the Zach Lowe Podcast, ESPN’s Jonathan Giovany said:
“Five first rounders. One friend of mine said, what happens if Giannis walks into Jon Horst’s office tomorrow and says I want a trade? Is it 10 first rounders for Giannis? That’s what some people were concerned about.”
One has to imagine if a player like Bridges is worth five first-round picks, Giannis would be worth much, much more. Is it possible that this trade just changed the way things are done in the NBA in regard to trading picks for players?
The Milwaukee Bucks Need to Win Another NBA Championship with Giannis Antetokounmpo

As mentioned, Giannis has not requested a trade out of Milwaukee. In the past, he has stated that he will never leave Milwaukee unless they start to shift their focus away from winning. Having built the Bucks into the contender they are, the two-time NBA MVP has no desire to be a part of another rebuild.
And who can blame him?
Right now, the Bucks have a roster that simply is not up to the standard set by other NBA Championship contenders. Having Giannis and Lillard means that they are competitive and will see some regular season success. However, if they are going to go back to the NBA Finals, they need to add quality veterans that will compliment both of their superstars.
