Green Bay Packers 3X Pro Bowl Star Named As A Top Free Agent Choice For Minnesota Vikings In 2025

A Green Bay Packers defensive star was recently named as a top fit for the Minnesota Vikings in free agency next year. The Packers could part ways with talented free agents in the future once they sign quarterback Jordan Love to a new deal.

Jordan Love will stretch the Green Bay Packers’ pocketbook

Love is expected to fetch anywhere from $55-60 million per year after the Jacksonville Jaguars handed Trevor Lawrence an annual salary of $55 million per year. Once Love signs a contract extension, the Packers will expect Love and the offense to carry the team to victories like what happened under Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

Kenny Clark is set to hit free agency next year

Former Packers’ first-round pick, Kenny Clark, is set to hit free agency in 2025. As previously discussed on WSH, Clark said this spring that he wants to re-sign with the Packers:

“Yeah, there’s been talks. They’re still ongoing, but they’re talking though. That’s the only thing I really got on that.

He was then asked if Green Bay is where he wanted to be for the rest of his career.

“Oh yeah! 100%. I love it here. I love my teammates, I love the organization. Hopefully everything will work out.”

Clark, a first round pick by the Packers in 2016, is the longest-tenured player on the team and an important part of the team’s current defense and culture.

However, the Packers and Clark might be unable to work out a deal to keep the three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle in Green Bay.

Would the Minnesota Vikings sign Clark?

Alec Lewis with The Athletic was asked who the Vikings might target as a free agent next year. Lewis thinks Clark would be high on the Vikings’ wish list:

Two names: Kenny Clark and D.J. Reed.

The Vikings will likely peruse the market for defensive tackles and cornerbacks next year, and these two might be the best available at their positions.

In recent seasons, we’ve seen the Vikings poach a few former Packers stars as free agents. Defensive end Za’Darius Smith played for the Vikings in 2022 after being in Green for three seasons. The Packers will line up against Aaron Jones this season after releasing the running back in free agency this year. Would Clark cross the line and wear purple next season if the Packers decide to move on?
