The Milwaukee Bucks are entering an offseason full of questions. While they do not have the coaching vacancy and search that they had last year, another first round loss in the NBA Playoffs has left many frustrated about another wasted year of Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s prime. With the Bucks’ core not getting any younger, it is imperative that they figure out the best way to construct their roster in order to bring another Championship back to the city of Milwaukee.
As has been the case every year, even in 2021 when they won the title, national media members debate whether or not Giannis, the two-time NBA MVP, will request a trade and leave Milwaukee. The fact that he signed another supermax extension just last year does not seem to matter in these discussions.
But while fans outside of the Milwaukee base and analysts daydream about the Greek Freak donning another uniform, the eight-time All-Star has consistently reaffirmed his commitment to the city and the franchise.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes a Bold Promise to Fans
On Thursday morning, Giannis took to social media to, once again, let the world know where his heart is and where he plans to play. Furthermore, he made a bold promise to Bucks fans regarding the aspirations that he and the team are reaching for:
Milwaukee, THANK YOU! This season didn’t end the way we wanted it to, but I promise you we will get back to where we belong and they’re going to give us our damn flowers 💐 pic.twitter.com/lcvlNG5Hpn

As seen above, Giannis thanks the city of Milwaukee and Bucks fans. While he admits that the season did not go the way anyone wanted it to, he promises that, soon, he and the Bucks will bring a title back to the city.
It is important here to notice his use of the word “we.” He is not implying that he will win another title somewhere else. The “we” is a reference to the Bucks team, and “where we belong” is at the top of the NBA after winning another title.
Finally, “they’re going to us our d— flowers” means that the national media is going to have to give him and the franchise the respect they deserve as perennial title contenders.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Post Comes on the Heels of a Report that He is Not Happy with the Milwaukee Bucks
Earlier this offseason, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers fired several assistant coaches that had been on Adrian Griffin’s staff. One of these was long-time assistant coach and Giannis-favorite Josh Oppenheimer.
According to Gery Woefel, Giannis was not consulted about Oppenheimer’s firing and was not happy with the organization for the decision.
While this report may have led some to believe that Giannis was so unhappy he might request a trade, it is notable that his post above came a day after Woefel’s post about his being unhappy with the team. Clearly, any feelings of disappointment he might have about the firing are far outweighed by his desire to win another Championship in a Bucks uniform.
