Like many players in the league, Bobby Portis recently received his rating from NBA 2K25. The thing is, his numbers went down, which was in contrast to how he really performed during the 2023-24 campaign.
Portis finished third in the voting for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award for the second consecutive year. This season, Minnesota’s Naz Reid took home the honor, receiving 352 points and 45 first-place votes, while Sacramento’s Malik Monk was the runner-up with 342 points and 43 first-place votes. He garnered five first-place votes and totaled 81 points, competing against nine other players.
Portis expressed his deep desire to win the award, stating that he has been focused on it since he was in his early twenties. He emphasized the importance of hard work and energy in his role as a key contributor off the bench. This past season, he played all 82 games for the first time in his career, averaging 13.8 points and 7.4 rebounds, with shooting percentages of 50.8% from the field and 40.7% from three-point range.
Under head coach Doc Rivers, who took over in late January, Portis elevated his performance, averaging 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in the final stretch of the season. He also recorded 10 double-doubles during this period.
Bobby Portis’s NBA 2K25 Rating Complaint Backup Up By His 2023-24 Stats For Milwaukee Bucks
Just recently, NBA 2K released their player ratings for the game’s latest version, 2K25. This prompted Portis to react to his rating by saying that it actually went down when played better last season. His claim is backed up by a post StatMuse shared on its official X account.
Bobby Portis last season:
— 13.8 PPG | 7.4 RPG
— 50.8 FG% | 40.7 3P%
— Top 3 in PTS and REB on a 3 seed
— Led NBA in bench double-doubles
— Led NBA in bench PTS + REBAnd averaged 19.5 PPG, 8.5 RPG and 2.5 SPG when he was in the starting lineup https://t.co/RVI2XdL6Vg pic.twitter.com/vZOHcdwHqX

Looking at the numbers, Portis had a pretty good run last season and should have made his ratings higher than what they actually were. In contrast, Damian Lillard’s ratings went down due to a dip in his production during hist first season in Milwaukee.
The big man remains one of the most reliable players for the Bucks, highlighting his commitment to excellence and his aspirations in the league. The upcoming season will give him a chance to prove he’s worthy of a better NBA 2K rating, or even win the Sixth Man of the Year award that eluded him last season.
