The NBA In-Season Tournament semifinal bout between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers was by no means short in action. Not only was it a captivating contest between two teams that had a real desire to get a shot at the IST championship, but apparently, the action spilled over to the stands.
Rapper Sada Baby had the privilege (or the burden, rather) of being seated alongside the parents of Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton. The experience did not turn out to be a very enjoyable one for the hip-hop star.
Tyrese Haliburton’s Dad Had Some Choice Words for Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard
In a recent episode of the Club 520 podcast, Sada revealed how Haliburton’s parents were a bit overzealous throughout the game. According to the rapper, the Haliburton’s weren’t very pleased by the fact that Bucks superstar Damian Lillard was getting more minutes than their son.
At one point, Sada could not help but confront Haliburton’s dad over all the negativity:
“You getting irritated that Dame was getting more minutes than him [Tyrese Haliburton] right now, you bugging up,” Sada Baby said (h/t Saddid Dey Purkayastha of The Sports Rush) “And, ni**a, this all woman right here so if you tweak out too bad, you feel me, and you think you ’bout to get off, I’mma roll you. And I don’t wanna do that ’cause I like Haliburton. I ain’t met Tyrese, yet, you know what I’m saying. I ain’t trying to, I ain’t threatening your daddy but I’m threatening your daddy.”
Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and the incident did not escalate to anything more than an exchange of words. Perhaps Haliburton’s dad got a bit of sense knocked into him after his conversation with the 31-year-old rapper?
Whatever the case might be, though, it was Haliburton and the Pacers who scored the victory over Lillard and the Bucks. Indiana went on to the finals to face the Los Angeles Lakers (where they eventually lost), while Milwaukee had to go home empty-handed.
I’m pretty sure the Haliburton’s were more than happy with the result of the contest.
