The regular season series between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers is over. These two teams played their fifth and final game of the season on Wednesday night, which resulted in a 142-130 victory in favor of Indiana.
With this win, the Pacers improve to 4-1 against their Central Division foe — a record that the Bucks will need to live with for the remainder of the campaign.
Khris Middleton Reacts to Another Milwaukee Bucks Loss
Khris Middleton had turned in another noteworthy performance in this one, finishing with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, to go along with six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and four turnovers in 32 minutes of play. The three-time All-Star was deadly beyond the arc, draining four out of his seven attempts from deep.
All of that was for nothing, though, as the Pacers used a furious 47-29 third-quarter run to take down the Bucks for the second time in three days.
We aren’t even halfway through the season and Milwaukee has already lost to Indiana four times.
“I think transition has been a big thing,” Middleton said of the loss, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Just haven’t played our best basketball. Haven’t played smart, I don’t feel like at times. They take advantage of every situation that they could in the half court and in transition.”
Unfortunately for the Bucks, they will no longer get a chance to redeem themselves against the Pacers in 2023-24. That is unless they are pitted against each other in the playoffs.
Middleton Played Through Injury
Middleton wasn’t even supposed to play on Wednesday night. He was listed as questionable to play heading into the ballgame due to injury management and a sprained left wrist. He looked fine against Indiana, though, but it will be very interesting to see if he is able to suit up on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs in the second night of a back-to-back set.
Middleton has yet to play in back-to-backs this season for Milwaukee.
