There’s no doubt Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is among the few stars in the NBA who have forged a legendary career. Ever since starting his journey with the Milwaukee Bucks and culminating in several championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, the All-Star big man is certainly a good example to emulate.
Drafted by the Bucks at the age of 22 in 1969, Abdul-Jabbar went on to play six seasons in Milwaukee. During that time, he averaged 30.4 points, 15.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.4 blocks per game. He also won Rookie of the Year, three MVP awards, and a championship ring in 1971.
After his stint in Milwaukee, Abdul-Jabbar played 14 years for the Los Angeles Lakers. During that stretch, the All-Star center teamed up with Magic Johnson to usher the Showtime era in Los Angeles, while winning five more rings. He also held the league’s all-time scoring title until LeBron James broke it in 2023.
At the end of his career, Abdul-Jabbar holds several franchise records in Milwaukee. These include points per game, field goal percentage, and win shares, among others.
Tacko Fall Reveals Impact of Milwaukee Bucks Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Has On His Life
As great as Abdul-Jabbar was during his time, the Bucks legend still finds a way to influence the younger generation of NBA stars. One of them is Tacko Fall, and he shares below in a video posted on Scoop B’s YouTube account:
“Well, from Kareem, it’s everything. Everybody knows everything that he has done on the basketball court and what he represented, and all the people who were beside him way before my time, like Muhammad Ali is my hero. Him and Kareem, they accomplished a lot, especially for social justice and what they were about — those were great men that accomplished great things beyond basketball; and that’s definitely something that we need to aspire to.,” Fall said.
Before Giannis Aantetokounmpo’s dominance in Milwaukee, the only name worthy of the franchise was definitely Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. And with Fall’s testimony of the legend, it’s only fitting to have him as one of the Bucks’ greatest players of all time.
