Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most dominant players in the NBA once again this season. With the second half of the NBA season set to begin for the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves, CBS Sports ranked its top 25 players in the NBA at the current mark of the NBA regular season.
Antetokounmpo to no surprise, is ranked in the top three in the NBA. He was ranked third on that list. The only two players he is not ahead of on this list are Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets who was ranked second and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers who was ranked first.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has played in 54 games so far this season for Milwaukee. He is averaging 30.8 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 6.4 APG, 1.1 BPG, and 1.4 SPG. Antetokounmpo has recorded a lot of double-doubles this season for the Bucks.
Reasoning That CBS Sports Brad Botkin Gives For Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks Being Third on the List
Brad Botkin wrote the list of the Top 25 players currently in the NBA this season of CBS Sports. He gave his reasoning as to why Antetokounmpo is currently ranked on this list.
Botkin said:
“His .616 shooting percentage is the best of his career. He leads the league in total points. It cannot be disputed that he is the single-most terrifying transition scorer and overall physical force in the basketball world. “
Giannis Antetokounmpo can dominate a basketball game at any given moment. This is why he has stat lines like 33 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists for example. Antetokounmpo has won two NBA MVPs and an NBA Finals MVP for a reason.
He will not be the reason why the Bucks (35-21), who are currently third in the Eastern Conference will fall short this season. Antetokounmpo needs Damian Lillard and others on the roster to get their act together for the second half of the NBA regular season and throughout the postseason.
