At the moment, there are only a handful of major Milwaukee Bucks franchise records that do not belong to Giannis Antetokounmpo. One of them is the steals record, which is currently held by four-time All-Defense guard Quinn Bucker.
Antetokounmpo, however, took a step closer in his chase for Buckner’s all-time record by climbing the Bucks’ all-time steals leaderboard during Saturday’s lopsided win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Climbs Milwaukee Bucks’ All-Time Steals List
Giannis finished Saturday’s 141-117 blwoout win against New Orleans with 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Thanks to his two swipes on the evening, Antetokounmpo was able to surpass Bucks icon Sidney Moncrief for the third spot on the all-time steals leaderboards:

Up next on the list for Giannis is former defensive specialist Paul Pressey, who has 894 steals to his name. At this point, Antetokounmpo is just 201 steals away from overtaking Pressey, which means that the former is likely to take the No. 2 spot in the coming months.
Giannis, however, still has a long way to go before reaching Buckner’s 1,042 career steals.
Bucks Fans React to Giannis’ Latest Milestone
As expected, Bucks fans started signing the praises of their cornerstone superstar amid this latest incredible franchise milestone:

Other supporters, however, could not help but notice the play on words employed by the Bucks’ social media team in the caption of their post. As it appears, this is a reference to the Indiana Pacers stealing away Giannis’ game ball after his 64-point career-high explosion earlier this season:
Hhahaha i see what you did there i'm rocking with it

He is only 19 short of overtaking Pressey for number 2 on the list. If he was 201 short it would be pretty optimistic to think he could have it done in a couple of months.
