As if not having Damian Lillard and Brook Lopez was not enough, the Milwaukee Bucks also lost Khris Middleton in the first quarter of Tuesday’s showdown against the Phoenix Suns. The three-time All-Star suffered an injury to his left ankle early in the game and was unable to return as the Bucks suffered a 114-106 loss against the mighty Suns.
At this point, it sounds like Middleton is going to be out of commission for Milwaukee for an extended period.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts to Khris Middleton Injury
Middleton immediately hit the deck after landing on Kevin Durant’s foot after a 3-point attempt in the opening quarter. It did not look good:

The 32-year-old was unable to continue from that point on, and it now sounds like this is going to be a relatively significant injury for Middleton.
After the game, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo commented on the Middleton injury blow. Giannis actually already ruled his star teammate out through the All-Star break as he expects not to have Middleton back in the lineup for as much as three weeks.
Be that as it may, Antetokounmpo is adamant that Middleton and the Bucks will be able to get through this latest stumbling block without much problems:
“How many games to the all-star break? Five. I’ve played without Khris for a whole season,” Antetokounmpo said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Five games, it’s OK. He’s going to be fine. Five games, that probably means eight to 10 days, then he has the all-star break, then he has seven days. So he’s going to have 15-17 days. Maybe he can take the first game; he has 20 days. We’re going to be fine. He’s going to be back, he’s going to be healthy. He’s going to be back to playing great basketball. We are there to support him but he’s going to be fine. I know Khris.”
Giannis has a point here. The fact that the All-Star break is coming up is truly a blessing for the banged-up Bucks. And like he said, Antetokounmpo knows Middleton all too well, and he is confident that Khris will be back as good as ever once he’s able to recover from this ankle injury.
