While the rest of the NBA has probably spent the past few days worrying about the Milwaukee Bucks’ newly-formed superstar duo, the Bucks’ social media team was preoccupied with something equally compelling. They had to come up with a new nickname for the Giannis Antetokounmpo-Damian Lillard partnership, which given the stature of these two superstars in the league, absolutely deserves an equally epic moniker.
Milwaukee Bucks Superstar Duo Dubbed With New Nickname
On Tuesday, the Bucks announced that they had already settled on one via Twitter. Depending on how you look at it, the new nickname could actually be considered as one that isn’t exactly child-friendly:

Greek Freak + Dame Time = Freak Time. It’s pretty simple and straightforward if you think about it, and in all honesty, the social media team would have committed a crime if they passed up the opportunity to use this hilarious combination.

I’m just not entirely sure it will stick, though. The mean streets of Twitter have already given their verdict on the new nickname, and let’s just say that the majority of the keyboard warriors don’t exactly approve of the same:

Needless to say, more than a few Bucks fans will be looking for a better nickname for their new duo.
For what it’s worth, though, there were also a few supporters who loved the novel idea. They too made their feelings known on social media:

That last one didn’t have much to do with the proposed Freak Time moniker, but there’s no denying that it’s a pretty awesome sight to see for Milwaukee fans everywhere. Could Giannis and Dame be the second coming of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson? We shall soon find out.
