This past summer, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo worked out with Hall of Fame big man Hakeem Olajuwon. This is far from the first time the Bucks talisman worked on his game with former NBA stars and it surely won’t be the last.
If you ask 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony, he believes that Giannis could learn a thing or two from him.
Carmelo Anthony Praises Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo
Speaking on a recent podcast appearance, Anthony had nothing but high praise for Antetokounmpo. In particular, the NBA 75th Anniversary team inductee commended Giannis’ ability to take the best out of other stars’ games and combine them into one total package:
“Giannis is a student. He’s a student,” Anthony said. “He took everything. If you watch, he took something from this person, that person, that person, that person, and put it all together.
“(Speaking as Giannis) ‘I’mma have a mindset like [Kobe Bryant]. I want the Mamba Mentality. I want the power and the strength and be fast and dunk like LeBron. … I don’t have the post game yet, but I want the post game. I just wanna be dominant in the post like Shaq or Dwight Howard.’ … He just take a little bit of everything.”
That’s some very high praise coming from a former superstar of Anthony’s caliber.
Giannis Needs ‘The Melo’
Melo did say, however, that he believes that Giannis is still missing something from his game. According to Anthony, he would be more than willing to give the former back-to-back MVP a few pointers to add some finesse to Giannis’ arsenal:
“(Speaking as Giannis) ‘I want this from Melo. I can’t get that. I gotta work with [Melo] to get what I really want,”” Anthony continued. “That’s what he really need. … He need that. He need the Melo. … That’s some real s**t. You talking about having the skill, let’s work.”

While Anthony did not really explain what he meant by “The Melo,” it’s not hard to put two and two together. Melo is one of the deadliest mid-range threats in the history of the NBA, and Giannis could use some work on his jumper.
Just imagine Antetokounmpo learning Melo’s shooting stroke. He would be absolutely unstoppable.
