Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard did not play in the 108-102 loss against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night in the second preseason game, but he did speak to reporters after the shootaround before that game on Tuesday. One of the interesting things about this basketball team this season is that Khris Middleton will be the third option on this basketball team behind Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Damian Lillard said interesting things about Khris Middleton to The Athletic’s Eric Nehm:
“Like I said before, how Giannis is and how I am, he’s naturally going to get opportunities. I don’t plan on having the ball in my hands the whole time. And if Giannis doesn’t have it, I know Khris is a handler, a shot maker, a playmaker and we gotta play off of each other. I think that’s how we’re going to be our best. We gotta leave room for Khris to be Khris.”
The one thing that the Bucks will need this season is for Khris Middleton to be healthy. That has been one of the things that has spiraled this basketball team over the last two seasons. Giannis Antetokounmpo, also missing some games in the playoffs last season, also did not help the cause as well.
Damian Lillard is going to be a great fit for this basketball team this season and beyond.
The Milwaukee Bucks and Damian Lillard Will Have High Expectations This Season
The Bucks and Lillard will have high expectations this season. It is championship or bust for them. Milwaukee will have three more preseason games to play before the regular season opener on Thursday, October 26, against the Philadelphia 76ers. Many are wondering when head coach Adrian Griffin Jr. will play his big three in the preseason, but they may be held out of preseason games because of the risk of injury.
There is nothing wrong with that, but maybe get some chemistry between Lillard and Antetokounmpo involved beforehand. Even if they don’t play in any preseason games, they will be fine once the games matter. This is a big year coming for the Bucks. They will need to make this thing work.
