Damian Lillard is a big Las Vegas Raiders fan, but the NFL team is testing his patience. The Milwaukee Bucks star point guard has clearly been following the news about Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams, who has reportedly informed his team that he wants a trade.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard speaks up about Davante Adams trade drama
“If the Raiders trade Tae for a damn 2nd round pick I’m done,” Lillard posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
It appears that Adams is not happy with how things are going with the Raiders, who has a 2-2 record after four weeks in the 2024 NFL regular season. Las Vegas seems like it’s open to the idea of trading the star, as the Raiders have reportedly told teams that they would hear offers for the wideout for a package that involves a second-round pick. That clearly isn’t sitting well with Lillard, who is preparing for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
Lillard can commiserate with Adams. In 2023, Lillard had requested the Portland Trail Blazers for a trade before landing with the Bucks, who got him via a three-team swap that the Phoenix Suns were also a part of. Like Adams, Lillard is an aging star who is still chasing an elusive championship; Lillard turned 34 years old last July, while Adams is about to be 32 in December.
However, the Bucks seem to have a much better chance of winning a championship in the coming season than the Raiders are to secure a Super Bowl in the 2024 NFL campaign.
It will be interesting how the Davante Adams trade saga will conclude. For Lillard, he’s only hoping for what’s best for the Raiders.
