The Milwaukee Bucks took care of business on Tuesday night by securing a routine win over the San Antonio Spurs at the Fiserv Forum, 132-119. This marked Milwaukee’s 20th win of the season against just seven losses, which has them sitting just half a game behind the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
There’s not much time to celebrate, though, with a matchup against the Orlando Magic on the horizon.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard Speaks Out on Upcoming Showdown Vs. Magic
Fresh off scoring the 20,000th point of his career against the Spurs, Damian Lillard quickly turned his attention to what’s ahead for the Bucks. This comes in the form of an East showdown against the Magic on Thursday night.
Orlando has been one of the biggest surprise packages of the season thus far and their strong play has them ranked fourth in the conference with a 16-9 record. This is exactly why Dame isn’t taking anything for granted as the Bucks prepare to take on Paolo Banchero and Co. in 48 hours:
“I think when we do the things that make us great, we have success,” Lillard said. “So I don’t think it’s anything special that we gotta do. We gotta be on a string defensively. We gotta pay close attention to the scouting report (and) know what they do well. Know personnel and try to take their strengths away. When you do that you have a chance.
“But every night is tough in this league. You gotta have a healthy respect for your opponent. That’s no different. I think when we do the things that make us us, we got a chance to beat anybody, and if we do that we’ll win again.”
Bucks Looking to Even the Odds
The Bucks have already battled Orlando this season, and it resulted in a 112-97 victory in favor of the Magic. It’s now Milwaukee who gets to host Orlando at the Fiserv Forum to close out their current eight-game home stand.
Lillard was unable to suit up against the Magic in their first matchup, so you can be sure that he will be itching to help his team take down a very young and hungry Orlando side.
