Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Donovan Mitchell is in a race to fitness for Friday’s showdown against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 27-year-old has been dealing with a lingering illness that has kept him out for a much longer period than initially anticipated.
As such, the fans have been waiting for an answer to the big question of Is Donovan Mitchell palying tonight vs. the Bucks?
Donovan Mitchell Still a Doubt Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
With roughly an hour to go before tip-off, the Cavs are still waiting to see whether or not Mitchell will be able to play through his illness. The four-time All-Star is still listed as questionable to play on the injury report, which could either be a good thing or a bad thing.
The fact that Mitchell hasn’t been ruled out could be a positive development but at the same time, Cleveland taking this long to make their decision only means that Mitchell is likely to be handicapped even if he is ultimately cleared to play.
If he is unable to go, Mitchell will miss his fifth straight game with an illness that he just can’t seem to shake off.
UPDATE: Per Cavs team reporter Serena Winters, Mitchell is good to go and will start against the Bucks:

It’s not just Mitchell who’s on the injury report for the Cavs when they host the Bucks a the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Evan Mobley and Darius Garland won’t be able to suit up due to respective injuries, while Ricky Rubio remains away from the team. Ty Jerome is also out, while Sam Merrill is considered questionable to play.
Now, with regard to the question of Is Donovan Mitchell playing tonight vs. the Bucks? The answer is yes.
