The Milwaukee Bucks took care of business on Thursday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. Patrick Beverley got the spot start with both Khris Middleton and Malik Beasley unavailable, and it was a chance for the feisty veteran to battle his former team.
Beverley was also able to rekindle an old flame with ex-coach Nick Nurse, who also happens to be the same dude who green-lighted his trade to the Bucks back in February.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Patrick Beverley Tosses Ball at Nick Nurse

The Bucks forced a turnover in what turned out to be Philly’s last possession of the game. Beverley recovered the rock and he rushed to the opposite side of the court before burning the clock out. As the final buzzer sounded, the 6-foot-2 combo guard appeared to have chucked the ball into the direction of Nurse:

Is there some bad blood brewing between player and former coach?
Sixers big man Mo Bamba was able to take the ball before it hit Nurse, who was walking away as Beverley threw the ball in his direction. The incident didn’t escalate.

Beverley played 26 minutes in just his second start for the Bucks. He finished with six points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block, and two triples. He didn’t stuff the stat sheet, but he played a key role in helping his team secure a 114-105 victory over their Eastern Conference foes.
A little over a month ago, the Sixers agreed to send Beverley to Milwaukee in exchange for Cameron Payne and a future second-round pick. He played just 47 games in Philly for the first half of the 2023-24 campaign after signing with the team as a free agent last summer.
