Having secured the second-most wins thus far on the backs of two Milwaukee Bucks all stars, the team’s journey to an impressive 32-16 standing has been a tale of two cities. The Bucks have been nearly unbeatable on their home court, boasting a remarkable 21-5 record that underscores their dominance in familiar territory. Conversely, their performances on the road have presented a mixed bag, with an evenly split 11-11 record indicating struggles to replicate their home form in away settings.

Amid these fluctuations, the spotlight shines brightly on two of Milwaukee’s standout performers: forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and guard Damian Lillard. Their exceptional contributions have been pivotal to the Bucks’ success and earned them starting positions in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. This accolade is a testament to their prowess on the court and their significant impact on the Bucks’ campaign, highlighting their roles as key architects of the team’s competitive edge in the league. These Bucks all stars have earned their stripes.

Historic Statistical Achievements of 2 Bucks All Stars

To begin with, it’s essential to emphasize the historical significance of the statistics these two players are putting up this season. Only ten seasons in NBA history have seen a player average at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. Remarkably, each time this feat has been achieved, it has led to All-Star selections.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who achieved this milestone last season, continues to impress with an even more astounding stat line this year, averaging 30.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. The big man has the 4th highest points per game currently.

Moreover, Damian Lillard is not far behind. He is hitting the benchmarks of at least 25 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. Historically, such numbers translate to All-Star selections.

Interestingly, Antetokounmpo and Lillard were considered the safest bets for All-Star selections this season, with odds of +650 and +750, respectively.

For fans eager to place bets on the upcoming NBA All-Star Game scheduled for February 17th, including on these Bucks all stars, the Caesars Sportsbook promo code can provide an exciting opportunity to engage with the game.

    All-Star Pedigree

Beyond their remarkable statistical resumes, Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo have cemented their mainstay positions in the All-Star game. With seven All-Star appearances apiece, they are among the top 10 active players with the most All-Star selections.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has not missed an All-Star game since 2017, while Damian Lillard’s only absence since 2018 was due to an injury in 2022. Their dominance in the All-Star game is further highlighted by the fact that they finished first and second in points in the 2021 All-Star game.

    Rare Superstar Partnerships

It’s not often in the NBA that two superstars of this magnitude come together to play on the same team. A notable example was the Miami Heat pairing of LeBron James and Dwayne Wade in 2010-11. They initially struggled but eventually found their groove, finishing the season with 58 wins. Similarly, the Milwaukee Bucks, with a record of 32-16, showcase their star players’ flexibility. Like the Heat, the Bucks evolve and improve as the season progresses.

Lillard and Antetokounmpo can fuse their styles and skills, creating a synergy beyond their achievements. Their partnership has seen Lillard providing Antetokounmpo with 74 assists, ranking ninth among all NBA combos. This significantly improved from last year, when Lillard’s connection with Jusuf Nurkic ranked significantly lower.

Antetokounmpo, on the other hand, has adapted to Lillard’s style, with more of his baskets being created by his teammates this season. His post-game efficiency has reached new heights, setting a career-high and ranking fifth in the league among players with at least 40 post-ups.

    Mutual Growth

Both players have been adding dimensions to their games to make their partnership even more effective.

Lillard is taking fewer touches per 100 possessions but is more efficient, while Antetokounmpo’s off-ball game has improved significantly. Their off-ball cuts, especially when Lillard sets screens for Antetokounmpo, have become lethal weapons in the Bucks’ arsenal.

    All-Star Caliber Performances

In light of their collective achievements and their impact on the Milwaukee Bucks, there is no doubt that Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo should be selected as Bucks All Stars this season.

The Bucks’ winning percentage of 68.4% further strengthens their case, as teams with multiple All-Stars have historically been successful.

    Conclusion

The partnership between Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo has transcended mere individual accolades, propelling the Milwaukee Bucks to impressive heights in the 2023-24 NBA season. These Bucks all stars are starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, which is a testament to their outstanding performances and underscores their dynamic impact on their team’s success.

Both athletes have maintained their exceptional levels of play and demonstrated a remarkable ability to elevate those around them, making their partnership one of the most compelling narratives in the NBA today.

As the Bucks continue to navigate the season, the league and its fans eagerly anticipate witnessing this duo’s influence in the All-Star Game and beyond, potentially setting new benchmarks for excellence in basketball.

Doc Rivers addresses Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury scare in Bucks win

    March 16, 2026
It has been a tough season for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, as losses have mounted and the team has slipped further from even a Play-In spot. With Giannis’ commitment hanging in the balance, the Bucks need to move quickly to regain his trust and keep their championship window open. The path won’t be simple, but Giannis has already laid out a blueprint for success, if the organization is ready to follow it. “Some claim that Antetokounmpo misses playing with players like Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, who were partners in the 2021 championship run,” wrote Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus. “That’s not to suggest he wants to get the band back together. Still, some suggest Antetokounmpo doesn’t want to play with a ball-dominant lead guard, preferring to be the primary engine driving his team’s offense (Holiday and Middleton were comfortable playing without the ball around Antetokounmpo).” It’s understandable that Giannis misses the teammates he won a championship with. With Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, the Bucks had the ideal mix of skill and unselfishness, letting Giannis drive the offense. The ball stayed mostly in his hands, though Khris and Jrue were always free to take their chances when opportunities arose. In the end, everything centered on Giannis, creating a straightforward structure that clarified each player’s role. Even better, both Middleton and Holiday were strong defenders, easing the burden on Giannis and allowing him to lead the team on both ends of the court. On the other hand, Giannis has experienced playing with another ball-dominant star. He spent years alongside Damian Lillard, who thrives when controlling the offense and creating opportunities for teammates. Their strong personalities and demanding styles often collided in Milwaukee, sparking a power struggle on the court that was never fully resolved. With Giannis’ future uncertain, the Bucks are under intense pressure to shape the roster around his vision. Failing to meet his expectations could push him to leave, potentially setting the franchise back for years. This summer, despite a tight market, the Bucks could pursue players like Quentin Grimes, Rui Hachimura, Collin Sexton, or even LeBron James. Rumors also suggest a potential run at Kawhi Leonard. Whoever they bring in, simply adding talent won’t be enough to elevate the team, they’ll need the right fit to take the next step.
