It was an unexpected turn of events, to say the least, which has prompted a somber message from Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin ahead of his team’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Warriors Assistant Dejan Milojevic Passes Away at 46
News broke on Wednesday that the Warriors had lost a key member of their coaching staff after Milojevic suffered a heart attack. According to NBA guru Shams Charania, the 46-year-old died in Salt Lake City as the Warriors were preparing for their game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
The NBA has decided to postpone the Jazz-Warriors game as a sign of respect for this tragic loss.
The Warriors took to Twitter to share their official statement on Milojevic’s passing:
We are absolutely devastated by Dejan Milojević's sudden passing.
This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him.

Milwaukee Bucks Coach Adrian Griffin Reacts
This is an undeniably tough blow not only for the Warriors organization but for the entire coaching scene as well. For his part, Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin started his pre-game press availability by sharing his reaction to this unexpected development:
“I want to express our deepest condolences to the sudden passing of Golden State assistant coach Dejan Milojević,” Griffin said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to his family, the Warriors and all that knew him.”
Milojevic, a Serbian, joined the Warriors’ coaching staff in 2021. He was part of Golden State’s title run in 2022, making him an NBA champion coach.
