The Milwaukee Bucks suffered arguably their most gutting loss of the season on Thursday when they fell to Central Division rivals, the Indiana Pacers, 128-119. It wasn’t just any defeat as the Bucks lost their chance of becoming the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament champions after being eliminated by Indiana in the semifinal.
Adrian Griffin Speaks on Milwaukee Bucks’ ‘Vibe’
The show must go on, though. This starts with a Monday night matchup against another Central Division foe in the Chicago Bulls. At this point, the Bucks are already moving past their heartbreaking loss to the Pacers.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Milwaukee shot-caller Adrian Griffin revealed the type of atmosphere the players have fostered following their semifinal loss to Tyrese Haliburton and Co. Apparently, the Bucks are ready to turn the page:
“We had a great practice today,” Griffin said (h/t Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “Probably one of the best practices we’ve had. I love the vibe in the gym, great energy and then we just get ready for Chicago.”
There weren’t too many positives to take away from the Pacers loss, but if anything, it appears that it has made the Bucks a hungrier side. They’ve already missed out on their first chance of silverware this season, and it is clear that they are now focused on the more important trophy at the end of the season.
If there were a silver lining to their loss against Indiana, it’s that Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks will be out for some revenge. It starts Tuesday against the Bulls.
