The Milwaukee Bucks were on the wrong end of a disheartening Christmas Day loss against the New York Knicks on Monday, 129-122. It was obviously not the result the team was hoping for, but this hasn’t stopped the Bucks organization from making sure that the players and the coaching staff are still able to enjoy the holiday season with their loved ones.
As it turns out, the Bucks decided to make the team’s road trip to New York a family affair.
Adrian Griffin Speaks on Milwaukee Bucks’ Epic Gesture

The Bucks play three games in New York in the span of five days. They beat the Knicks on Saturday, 130-111, followed by their Christmas Day showdown on Monday. Milwaukee returns to action on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
The fact that the Bucks have to travel on Christmas means that they don’t get to spend the holiday at home with their families. This is exactly why the organization decided to just let the players and the staff bring their families with them.
Milwaukee head coach Adrian Griffin recently spoke out about the team’s epic Christmas gesture:
“No. 1, this is a first-class organization,” Griffin said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We understand that family is important. It’s important to the players. In my experience in the NBA, it’s hard to spend those times with your loved ones. We’re able to do that and have our families with us.
“In saying that, it’s also a business trip. But this is s a veteran group, they know what’s at stake, they know how to get themselves ready. I thought it was a great gesture by (general manager) Jon (Horst) and the entire Bucks organization to make sure that the families are included. The kids can come. I think that’s very important.”

As Griffin hinted, the risk of letting everyone’s family tag along on the trip is how the players could lose focus on the task at hand. The rookie coach made it clear, however, that he doesn’t believe that this is going to be an issue for a squad of tested veterans.
Either way, you can be sure that every member of the team appreciates the gesture from the front office. It’s not every day that you get to spend Christmas in the Big Apple with your entire family.
After Monday’s loss, however, you can also be sure that the Bucks will want to end their New York trip with a win on Wednesday against the Nets.
