Unfortunately, Rowdy Tellez was placed on the list following a finger injury he sustained during batting practice. The injury required him to undergo surgery on his left ring finger, which had a torn fingernail, a small fracture on the tip, and 17 stitches. Before the injury, Tellez had performed well with a .213 batting average, 12 home runs, and a .673 OPS.
Milwaukee Brewers fans are questioning whether it’s time to call up Keston Hiura, their former top prospect for reinforcements.
Rowdy Tellez Injury Means Keston Hiura Should Get Promoted
Is It Time for the Milwaukee Brewers To Make the Call?
Keston Hiura has been on fire for Triple-A Nashville since being designated for assignment. He has earned the title of Player of the Week multiple times, and his hitting has been exceptional. In 49 games, Keston Hiura has maintained an impressive .313 batting average, hit 14 home runs, and achieved a .972 OPS. Although he has had previous successes at the Triple-A level, Hiura has struggled to perform when called to the majors. However, he has been diligently working on his plate approach throughout the season, and it’s paying off.
What Is the Worst That Could Happen?
Rowdy has struggled all year, so some fans think Keston Hiura should be considered an option. Rowdy is out for weeks, and Keston is producing in Nashville. He could bring the spark the team needs going into the second half of the season.
If the Milwaukee Brewers want to make a playoff run, they must acquire another power hitter. This can be done by calling up Keston Hiura or making a trade deadline move.
