The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the signing of pitcher Sam Gardner. Before signing with the Brew Crew he was playing in Indy ball with the Gateway Grizzles in the Frontier League. Prior to that he had NCAA experience with Alabama and Murray State.

Who is the Milwaukee Brewers new pitcher Sam Gardner?
Right-handed pitcher Sam Gardner is a Murfreesboro, Tennessee native who is currently 26 years old. In college he was utilized primarily as a starting pitcher but inconsistencies resulted in a career 4.48 ERA. After leaving Murray State in 2021 he began playing Indy ball for the Gateway Grizzles.
During his first season with the Grizzles Sam Gardner continued down the starting pitcher path. In 2022 he switched to the bullpen and his season strikeout numbers rose to a 12.4 K:9. He ended up throwing 29.2 innings of relief and struck out 67 batters.
To begin the 2023 season he again returned to the Grizzles. His signing with the Brewers came after just four appearances in which he had not yet surrendered a run. On the mound his fastball sits in the mid 90s. His manager Steve Brock provided the following statement regarding him.
Sam is sensational both on and off the field. He is definitely one who can move to the highest level if he continues on his trajectory. I’m thankful that we were a part of his journey the past two years.”
