Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick is a Lexington, Massachusetts native. He grew up a huge Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan, but also was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan because his dad is tied to the city of Pittsburgh. This holiday weekend he will be making his first trip to Boston as a big league player.
Sal Frelick has not been to Fenway Park as a professional baseball player.
Growing up Sal Frelick attended many Boston Red Sox games, has done Fenway Park tours, and played at the stadium in college. He has not played in Boston as a professional baseball player because the last time the Brewers played there was in 2022. At that time Frelick was in the minor leagues.
The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder has one major goal left to do at Fenway Park.
A tradition at Fenway Park is players signing the Green Monster in left field. During a segment on MLB Network Frelick mentioned that is one major goal he has this weekend as he makes his return to Boston. Frelick also jokes that he may be paying to play during this series as he has lots of family and friends that will be in attendance.
“First time going back [to Boston] as a Brewer, pretty excited.”
