The Green Bay Packers are keeping their options with the 25th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and one of the prospects they are expected to see is Amarius Mims, according to Easton Butler. Mims is a right tackle and he played college football with the Georgia Bulldogs last season.

Mims is 6’7″ and weighs 340 lbs. They do need help on the offensive line the Packers. Green Bay needs the proper protection for quarterback Jordan Love moving forward. Green Bay also needs to find a reliable left tackle in the 2024 NFL Draft. There is no doubt that there is depth at the offensive line position in this draft class.
Cornerbacks, safety, and running backs will be some of the other needs in the 2024 NFL Draft. Green Bay has 11 selections in this class. No one has clarity on what general manager Brian Gutekunst is going to do in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers Doing Their Due Diligence On Offensive Linemen Along With Amarius Mims

Mims isn’t the only offensive lineman that the Packers are doing their homework on before the 2024 NFL Draft. Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma was also being hosted by the Green Bay Packers. Guyton and Amarius Mims are both projected to be mid-to-late first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Zach Tom played right tackle last season for Green Bay and Rasheed Walker played left tackle last season for the Packers after David Bahktiari went down with a season-ending injury in September. If the Packers were to draft him and move him to left tackle, it would take some time for Amarius Mims to adjust to that position.
According to Pro Football Focus, his scouting report is as follows:
“It’s hard to believe how the 6-foot-7, 340-pound Mims can sit in his stance and run to cover ground. He also has elite length for the position. While his physical potential is through the roof, he lacks experience. He played only 682 snaps over the past two seasons due to biding his time at a talented program and injury in 2023. He is a strong player who can maintain blocks well with good upper-body strength. Mims is smoother than he is truly explosive as an athlete, which takes away some of his punch at contact. His feet are also a bit slow in pass protection, which can cause some clunky kickbacks and oversetting.”
If they were to go with an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft whether it is Amarius Mims from the Georgia Bulldogs or not, he would be the first offensive player drafted by Green Bay since quarterback Jordan Love in 2020. They would most likely draft a player on the defensive side of the football because they need more help on the backend of the defense, especially at the cornerback position.
