The Milwaukee Brewers seem to have solidified their five-man starting rotation for the 2025 MLB season. Of course it was announced very early on that Freddy Peralta would be the ace and Opening Day starter for the team for the second season in a row. Tobias Myers, who made the third-most starts on the team last year (25) also figures to be a top-of-the-rotation starter this year.
Additionally, the Brewers added left-handed starting pitcher Nestor Cortes when they traded two-time All-Star closer Devin Williams. Aaron Civale, a trade acquisition last season who went 6-3 with a 3.53 ERA in 14 starts with Milwaukee following the deadline, is believed to have had the fourth spot in the starting rotation locked up.
And now it seems like the Brewers have their fifth starter, a former rival who has played for three different National League Central Division teams already.
The Milwaukee Brewers Have Signed LHP Jose Quintana

According to MLB insider Robert Murray, the Brewers have agreed to a one-year contract with left-handed starting pitcher Jose Quintana. The deal is pending a physical:

Last season, Quintana made 31 starts for the New York Mets, going 10-10 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He also shut down the Brewers in Game Three of the Wild Card series, pitching six innings of shutout ball and striking out five.
In 13 MLB seasons, Quintana is 102-103 with a 3.74 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. He spent the first five and a half years of his career with the Chicago White Sox, but has since played for the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinals.
The Cincinnati Reds are now the only National League Central Division team that Quintana has not played for.
Fans may recall that, back in 2022, the Brewers had expressed interest in landing Quintana at the trade deadline. However, he was traded to the Cardinals where he went 3-2 with a 2.01 ERA in 12 starts down the stretch to help St. Louis make the playoffs.
Last season, Milwaukee used 17 different players as starters/openers. Hopefully this five-man rotation stays healthier than the 2024 version.
