Former Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell, a Whitefish Bay Native, has had a park in his honor since 2012. The park, which hosts little league games, was unfortunately vandalized after he controversially accepted a new job offer with the division rival Chicago Cubs.
The morning after news hit that Craig Counsell was joining the Chicago Cubs the sign to the park was found vandalized in which profanity was plastered across it. This type of response generated a ton of buzz from fans who all had varying inputs on social media.

Might be time to go ahead and rename the field

Well, he’s a traitor, so I get it.
Right thing to do? Probably not, but neither was him going to the Cubs.

Ridiculous. Come on people. This isn’t the way to take out anger.

OK. People are upset. However, that is a beautiful Little League ball park and the sign is very visible to all including all the kids. My guess is that the sign will have to be removed.

How dare he take a job that offered him double what he was making. When his former employer had all season to extend him, but never talked to him. How dare he take employment elsewhere! I’m sure we’d all stay where we are and not jump at the chance to better ourselves. Right? SMH

I’m as angry as anyone at Craig Counsell, but don’t do this stuff people. We’re better than that, we’re better than him. We need to show him that we are better off without him, not prove him right fo leaving.

I wonder if the person who did this would’ve turned down the same percentage raise Counsell got to go work for a competitor of the company they’re currently at

He made 22 million his whole baseball career…Cubs are giving him 40 million. If the Brewers wanted him, they should have paid him.
