The Milwaukee Brewers are starting the 2024 season without their expected closer Devin Williams as he is dealing with stress fractures in his back. Through two games against the New York Mets manager Pat Murphy has turned to 23 year old Abner Uribe to close out each contest.
Abner Uribe is known for wearing his emotions on his sleeve.
When Abner Uribe was rising through the Brewers minor league system he was known for having a flare for the dramatics. The flamethrower wears his emotions on his sleeve but still manages to pitch in a composed manor. At this point it is who he is and is very much a part of his game.
The New York Mets dugout got shushed by Abner Uribe after losing a second consecutive game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
After picking up a save on Opening Day Abner Uribe was again called upon in game two. The Brewers had a two run cushion, he did allow a solo home run to Pete Alonso, but he then held on to secure the win. Following the contest he was seen “putting a gun back into its holster” (this represents putting a fire out by placing a smoking gun back in its holster) and he also shushed the Mets dugout.

It took all of two saves for Abner Uribe to bring the holster out. https://t.co/YmgqBPJQIQ https://t.co/SaoqfB3HIK pic.twitter.com/zLHesj8jHz

Game three between the Brewers and Mets will be tense.
Aside from Abner Uribe shushing the Mets dugout there has been tension in this series between Jeff McNeil, New York, and Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins hit McNeil in the leg during a legal slide on Opening Day and a day later Mets pitcher Yohan Ramirez was ejected after throwing behind Hoskins. It’s safe to say that game three, that starts at 12:40 PM CT, will be must watch for baseball fans everywhere.
