The Milwaukee Brewers played a wild game on Friday night against the Chicago White Sox that ended with breakout rookie reliever Abner Uribe securing his first career save in the 10th inning. With a ghost runner in scoring position and his team ahead by just a run he recorded three outs by generating a weak fly out to left field, ground ball out to the first baseman, and a ground ball out right back at him.
While on the mound Abner Uribe pumped in eight strikes on 10 total pitches with nine of them hitting at least 99 MPH on the radar gun. His best pitch, a 99-102 MPH sinker that averages 20.6 inches of vertical drop and 13.6 inches of horizontal movement, has been dubbed a “turbo sinker” by the Pitching Ninja Rob Friedman.
There clearly is a lot to like about this young 23 year old flame throwing rookie. It is also quite possible that his first career save against the White Sox is the start of many more to come throughout his career. Here is what fans had to say on social media following his outing and major career accomplishment.

Abner Uribe and Devin Williams in the same bullpen for the next several years is going to be quite fun. #Brewers

This guy threw less than 100 innings in the minors. He has a ton to learn yet but he’s holding his own in the big leagues.
Future closer.

I think Elvis Peguero can still be a key part of this bullpen moving forward, but I want to see him in less stressful innings to try and find his groove again.
I want to see Abner Uribe in the 7th inning setup man spot in the near future. I think that both Hoby Milner and…
