The Milwaukee Admirals went to the Western Conference Finals a season ago in the AHL Playoffs before losing to the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Fans are looking forward to the new 2023-2024 AHL season in Milwaukee. The Admirals’ first game of the season will be on Saturday, October 14 on the road against the Chicago Wolves.
They will have their home opener on Saturday, October 21 against the Texas Stars at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The Milwaukee Admirals are the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. Milwaukee will have some very interesting players to watch for throughout the 2023-2024 season. Who will be some of the players that could potentially be on the roster and play for them this season?
Yaroslav Askarov, Goalie will be the most interesting player on the Milwaukee Admirals
There is no doubt that heading into this AHL season, Yaroslav Askarov will be the most intriguing player potentially on the Milwaukee Admirals roster. He is currently up in training camp with the Nashville Predators, but he is currently the third goalie behind Juuse Saros and Kevin Lahkonen.
A season ago with the Milwaukee Admirals, Askarov played in 48 games and had a 26-16-5 record with a .911 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA, along with three shutouts. He was a first-round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators. Yaroslav Askarov will be in Milwaukee for some time this season but he will probably be the first goalie called up if one of the other two goalies gets injured.
Joakim Kemell, Winger
Joakim Kemell is going to spend most, if not the entire season with the Milwaukee Admirals this season. He was a first-round pick (17th overall selection) in the 2022 NHL Draft by Nashville. Kemell is only 19 years old and played in 14 games a season ago in Milwaukee. He scored six goals and recorded seven assists, with a plus/minus rating of -5.
Joakim Kemell is going to be one of those prospects that a lot of hockey fans will want to see this season. He is going to be in the long-term plans of the Nashville Predators, but letting him develop in the minors with the Admirals is the play here for now.
Luke Evangelista, Winger
At just 21 years old, he was third a season ago for the Milwaukee Admirals in points scored. He had 41 total points in 49 games played. Luke Evangelista scored nine goals and recorded 32 assists. He had a plus/minus rating of 10.
Evangelista is currently in training camp with the Predators as well, but will most likely be one of those players that could be down with the Milwaukee Admirals for the season, but also with Nashville if they have some injuries as well. He will be one of the top players down here.
