The Marquette Golden Eagles were very impressive on Monday night against the Stony Brook Seawolves and won that game by a final score of 102-62. Marquette is the 18th-ranked team in the nation. They will look to win another game on Friday night when they host the George Mason Patriots.
George Mason is also 1-0 on the season. The tip-off for this matchup will be at 8 p.m. CT. Marquette is looking to improve to 2-0 on the year.
Marquette Golden Eagles Key Players To Watch For Against the George Mason Patriots
The Marquette Golden Eagles had three players who scored in double figures against the Stony Brook Seawolves on Monday night. Kam Jones led the way with 32 points. There is a chance that he could very well average 25.0 PPG or more this season in college basketball.
Chase Ross also scored 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and four assists for head coach Shaka Smart. There is a chance that Ross is a potential breakout player this season for the Golden Eagles. David Joplin also scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Marquette. It will be interesting to see if those three players will be the top three scorers on the team all season long.
George Mason Top Players
Tony Skinn is the head coach of the George Mason Patriots. They faced the North Carolina Central Eagles and won that game on Monday 75-58. Darius Maddox led the way for George Mason with 17 points and five rebounds.
Three players each scored 11 points for the Patriots on Monday and they were Jalen Hayes, Brayden O’Connor, and Giovanni Emejuru. It will be interesting to see how well George Mason will play against the Marquette Golden Eagles. The odds are that Marquette will probably win this game by double digits easily.
