The Marquette Golden Eagles would need to have a new leader emerge with Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro with the program. Kam Jones would be leading the scorer for the Golden Eagles on Monday night against the Stony Brook Seawolves with 32 points.

With Jones scoring 32 points on the night against the Stony Brook Seawolves, he only missed two shots in the game and went 14-of-16. Jones also grabbed one rebound and three assists. Kam Jones could very well score over 25 points or more in a game consistently this season as a senior.

Chase Ross also scored 23 points for the Golden Eagles. He also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded four assists. Ross came off the bench last season for Marquette. He will have a chance to break out this season.

David Joplin also scored in double figures for the Golden Eagles. He scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and recorded three assists.

Despite losing by 40 points in the game, the Seawolves have a couple of players on the roster who will be contributors for them this season for head coach Billy Cosh. Joseph Octave scored 12 points and grabbed three rebounds.

Ben Wright also added 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded two assists for the Stony Brook Seawolves. Stony Brook will next play on Thursday on the road against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Jones and the Golden Eagles will next play on Friday at home against the George Mason Patriots. Marquette and head coach Shaka Smart will look to improve to 2-0 then.
