Is this the longest Bucks winning streak of all-time?
14 in a row is a very impressive streak. (Tops in the NBA this season.)
The Milwaukee Bucks are hot! With their win today they have won 14 in a row. That is the longest win streak in the NBA this season. The second longest win streak this season comes from the Brooklyn Nets (Dec. 7th-Jan. 2nd) at 12 wins in a row. The third longest winning streak this season comes from the Memphis Grizzlies at 11 consecutive wins. Milwaukee plays next in Brooklyn on Tuesday night.
The longest NBA winning streak of all-time was the LA Lakers in 1972. That winning streak was 33 games long. Ironically it was the Milwaukee Bucks who broke that streak with a 120-104 win.
The second longest winning streak in NBA History was by the Golden State Warriors in the 2015-2016 NBA season. Again, the streak breaker was the Milwaukee Bucks, winning 108-95.
Longest Bucks win streak?
This winning streak has been awesome but it is not the longest Bucks winning streak of all-time. That comes from the 1971 Milwaukee Bucks who had a winning streak of 20 wins.
It really isn’t even the longest win streak of this particular group of players.
Back in 2020 the Bucks also managed to win 18 in a row. That streak was a regular season highlight of that season. That team also had Lopez, Giannis, Jrue, Khris…

What’s Next?
It does not seem like the Bucks are too old as some previously thought. And their trade deadline additions seemed to really have added a new, tougher dimension to this team.
The Bucks won’t win them all, but when do we need to know, for sure, that they need to have their foot on the gas? When does it start to become “must-win”? The Bucks have a March 30th contest against Boston that could have the feel of a pre-playoff preview. Of course no one knows but Khris Middleton (31 years old), Jrue Holiday (32 years old), Brook Lopez (34 years old) and Wesley Matthews (36 years old) will need to be healthy and ready. And of course following the classic sports adage, “take it one game at a time” certainly holds true, but are our Bucks too old to hold up for the entire season? So far, so good.
Wesley Matthews was quoted this season in a conversation with Jim Owczarski of jsonline in saying, “The beauty of the NBA is short term memory and we got another hungry team ready to be waiting on us in Milwaukee, so get home, figure this out, play better, win some games, and this will all be water under the bridge.” Of course Matthews is right. Milwaukee has discovered that winning formula but the streak needs to keep going.
Winning streaks and losing streaks are part of sports. Hopefully, Milwaukee can keep these good times rolling! It has been fun and for Bucks fans everywhere, it has been about as sweet as it has ever been.
