Ken Rosenthal, a senior writer at The Athletic and MLB on FOX Field Reporter, recently appeared on a show in which the trade deadline was discussed. During this discussion the topic of the most likely pitcher to be traded was brought up. He suggested that Milwaukee Brewers ace Corbin Burnes was the most likely to get traded.

Why does Ken Rosenthal believe that the Milwaukee Brewers will trade their ace Corbin Burnes this year?
A detailed answer regarding the current state of the Milwaukee Brewers is why Ken Rosenthal believes that Corbin Burnes will get traded. His full response is listed below.
“I don’t believe the Brewers are going to be able to sustain first place, which is where they are right now. Not with Brandon Woodruff on the IL, not with Wade Miley on the IL, not with Aaron Ashby on the IL. This is a team with very thin margins to begin with.
I am betting, or not betting, but I am talking about the Cardinals and thinking that they are going to win this division by 10 games.
We saw what the Brewers did last year when they were really still in contention. They traded Josh Hader.
Corbin Burnes is under club control until the completion of the 2024 season. It will be interesting to see how his situation unfolds with the Brewers given their tarnished relationship that came by virtue of an ugly arbitration hearing earlier this spring and the teams current struggles. It is also highly unlikely that Milwaukee will be able to sign him to a long term contract.
Similar to Josh Hader, the question is not if they will trade Corbin Burnes, but more so of when.
