Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander had a ton of beef with each other during both meetings last season. It appears as if this beef is continuing off the field heading into the 2023 regular season.
Justin Jefferson & Jaire Alexander Beef Continues
It will be a matchup to watch out for when the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers face each other twice this upcoming season. Justin Jefferson was interviewed by Zach Aldridge of CBS Sports this week. He was also shown a clip of Pete Prisco asking Jaire Alexander about the second meeting between the two teams a season ago.
A season ago, in Week 1, Jefferson lit up the Packers cornerback for 184 yards receiving and two touchdowns. In the second meeting in Week 16, he was held to one reception for five yards.
In the interview about Jaire Alexander, Justin Jefferson said,
“It’s just him talking. Nobody’s really worried about him.” He also continued on saying about the second matchup last season, “They had their intentions to really take me out of the game. Everything about that day was to take me out the game, to not let me touch the ball, to do things to really take me out my game. At that point in the season we already had solidified in the playoffs, we had already won the division. I didn’t even play the whole second game. But you can’t call a 180-yarder a fluke, that’s something that’s not a fluke. You can’t just walk up on 180 yards in the NFL, especially being one of the top players.”
Justin Jefferson & Jaire Alexander Meetings in 2023

For the 2023 season, the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers will face each other at Lambeau Field in the first meeting in Week 8 on Oct. 29. The second meeting will be on Sunday Night Football on New Year’s Eve at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Jefferson has been hearing his noise about the second game and wants to prove him wrong in the first battle against each other next season. Alexander was gritty’ing when he shut him down in the second matchup last season.
In the interview with Aldridge, Justin Jefferson said, “I guess we gonna see what all the talk is about, and hopefully they don’t have me doubled teamed with a safety over the top.”
