The Green Bay Packers trade speculations are circulating yet again. No surprise the rumors are about another talented wide receiver. Recently, the Packers have been linked to names like Odell Beckham Jr, DJ Moore and Jerry Jeudy as possible free-agent/trade targets. This time the Packers trade rumors are about pro-bowl WR Jarvis Landry of the New Orleans Saints. There’s hope that trading for this pro-bowl wide receiver could help lure OBJ. A Bleacher Report article helped spark the chatter.
Jarvis Landry is a very talented wide receiver when healthy. Landry is a five-time pro-bowl wide receiver and also led the league in receptions in 2017. He hauled in 112 catches as a member of the Miami Dolphins that year. After his stint in Miami, Landry was traded to the Browns where joined forces with long-time friend Odell Beckham Jr. Landry and Beckham were even college teammates at LSU from 2011-2013. Now this raises the question. If Green Bay makes an attempt to trade for Landry would that help lure Beckham Jr to sign with the Packers?
Should the Packers trade for Landry?
The New Orleans Saints might be in the market to trade Jarvis Landry. After their 2-4 start and question marks at the QB position, Landry could be on the move. Landry is currently on a one-year, 3 million dollar deal with the Saints. If the Packers are able to trade for Landry could be the first steps in signing Beckham Jr? Green Bay ranks just 18th in passing and 21st in yards per attempt this season so adding any type of depth at WR would work wonders for Green Bay. Despite dealing with an ankle injury, Landry has shown he can be productive this season. In the Saints’ season open he caught seven passes for 114-yards. If the Packers trade for Landry it could create a stir that not even OBJ can ignore.
