With the Milwaukee Bucks starting 1-6 this season, a lot of people are wondering if they are going to trade superstar player Giannis Antetokounmpo before the 2024-2025 NBA trade deadline. However, general manager Jon Horst may trade away some other pieces on the Bucks’s roster if they continue to slide this season.
At some point, they are going to need to acquire some draft picks. Milwaukee will need to start stringing wins together in a hurry to get themselves back in the playoff picture.
NBA Insider Bobby Marks Reports That the Milwaukee Bucks Won’t Trade Giannis Antetokounmpo Anytime Soon
On Wednesday during the NBA Today, NBA Insider Bobby Marks talked about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks. Marks said:
“He is not looking to be moved. Milwaukee is not looking to move him… I think we can put away the fictional Giannis trade proposals for right now.”
A lot of people have been creating mock trades for Antetokounmpo. Some of the teams that people have mentioned in the past for him to be traded to are the New York Knicks, the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat, the Dallas Mavericks, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Golden State Warriors. It will be interesting to see if these mock trades get fired up once again later this season.
Potential Fire Sale At the NBA Trade Deadline
Antetokounmpo won’t be traded most likely this season, but there is no question that the Bucks would have a fire sale if they continued to go down the wrong path this season. Pat Connaughton, Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis Jr. are at least a few of the players who could be traded.
There is a chance that Khris Middleton and Damian Lillard could be put on the trade block if it continues to get out of hand. However, would general manager Jon Horst make the best trade for the franchise if it came down to that point? It remains to be seen.
