The Green Bay Packers have put themselves in a position to compete for a playoff berth in the NFC. That is something that not many would have predicted about a month ago. Three consecutive wins (against playoff caliber teams) have put the team, currently, in the seventh seed.
The Packers have done so with a few of their top weapons missing time. Namely Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and Luke Musgrave. Because of this, the Packers have decided to bring in a lengthy wide receiver.

Over the course of his six-year career at Delaware, Pitts appeared in 59 games primarily as a perimeter receiver. His offensive snaps were split out wide on 617 of his 693 offensive snaps (89.0%), according to Pro Football Focus. Considering his athletic makeup it is easy to understand why the Fightin’ Blue Hens chose to use him that way.

In 59 career games, Pitts caught 172 passes for 2,429 yards and 23 touchdowns. The 39-inch vertical Pitts displayed at his pro day during the pre-draft process was impressive, as was his time of 4.45 seconds for the 40-yard dash.
The only hangup? In total, he played just 41 snaps on special teams. 23 of those came last season: 21 on the kick return team, plus two on punt returns. It will take him some time for him to become a significant player in the third phase of the game. However, if the Packers feel they can develop that aspect of his game, his receiving ability may be something to keep an eye on.
