Former Green Bay Packers All-Pro LB, De’Vondre Campbell signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.
As reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the contract is a one-year deal pending a physical.

That officially puts a pin in Campbell’s Packer career, as he was an impactful player in his first year, but injuries and the emergence of Quay Walker made Campbell expendable.
Campbell finishes his Green Bay career starting in 40 games, tallying 317 tackles, two sacks, and 15 tackles for loss.
San Francisco has been in the market for a linebacker since Dre Greenlaw suffered a torn Achilles in the Super Bowl, and will miss most of next season
What does this move mean for the Packers’ depth at linebacker?
The team has four linebackers on the active roster (Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie, recently re-signed Kristian Welch, and Christian Young, whom the team signed to a reserve/future contract on Jan 16.
The team will likely sign a free-agent LB or wait until the NFL draft to fill the position. There aren’t many players left on the free agent market for inside linebackers who are an upgrade over Campbell. It’s more likely Green Bay will wait until the draft.
Who could the Green Bay Packers target at the inside linebacker position in the Draft?
Linebacker isn’t an immediate need for Green Bay, but one player who should be targeted is Tommy Eichenberg, who played under DC Jeff Hafley at Ohio State. Steele Chambers ( Ohio State) Jaylan Ford (Texas), and Trevin Wallace (Kentucky). General Manager Brian Gutekunst has targeted skill-position players from Power 5 schools and will likely fill this position in the later rounds.
