Several current and former Green Bay Packers are giving students across the state of Wisconsin the experience of a lifetime. These players have taken a bus around the state of Wisconsin to visit schools and organizations to meet and talk to kids about football and life. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs is one of the current players that agreed to on the annual Packers Tailgate Tour, and today is his birthday. A video posted on the Packers’ Twitter page showed the rest of the players plus hundreds of students at Superior High School singing “Happy Birthday” to Doubs.

The Packers Tailgate Tour is an annual event in which current and former players, along with President/CEO Mark Murphy, tour Wisconsin schools and charities. They meet with children and fans on their own turf. It is an event that really displays the uniqueness of the Green Bay Packers organization, as Murphy stated in an article on packers.com by Wes Hodkiewicz:

“I think to me it really highlights the uniqueness of the Packers, particularly our connection with our fans, and it’s a great way to thank our fans for their support and go on the road and see them. It’s great to have both current and former players this year. One of my favorite parts of this is seeing the beginning of the trip, they really aren’t interacting much with each other. By the end of the trip, they realize they have a lot in common.”

Other current and former players that are participating in this year’s Packers Tailgate Tour are:

    • Aaron Jones
    • Elgton Jenkins
    • Evan Smith
    • Davon House
    • Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
    • Eddy Lacy
