The Green Bay Packers have been focusing on the defense for much of the off-season. Xavier McKinney was a massive free agent signing that may have been a game changer for Jeff Hafley’s defense. However, there have been multiple other moves that have indicated a new era on defense.
Releasing De’Vondre Campbell, re-signing Keisean Nixon and Corey Ballentine were three that set that precedent. However, there has been another addition to the defense that could bode well for depth purposes.
The Green Bay Packers Add Another Young Defensive Back For 2024
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
The Packers have re-signed CB Robert Rochell, per a source.
He came to GB in late October off Carolina’s pratice squad. He wasn’t tendered as a restricted free agent, but the Packers are bringing him back for another look.
The 26-year-old Rochell played nine games for the Packers last season. Over the course of his nine appearances for the Packers in 2023, Rochell played 112 snaps on special teams and made four special teams tackles.
In Rochell’s special teams career, he played punt coverage, punt return, kickoff coverage, and kickoff return. There were no penalties or missed tackles on his part.
