The deadline is quickly approaching for the Green Bay Packers to add extra draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft by trading Aaron Rodgers this offseason. Something big has occurred this weekend between the Packers and New York Jets that should shake up the draft. The Packers and Jets have been in a standstill over compensation for weeks. They’re looking at Friday as a soft deadline to make a trade happen.

The Packers could use extra draft help via a Rodgers trade for quality picks on day one or two. The Packers have three selections scheduled for the first three rounds. One would assume Rodgers would fetch either a first-round pick or two second round picks. However, the Jets haven’t wanted to make those concessions. With the draft a few days away, there are signs of progess between the Packers and Jets.
Green Bay Packers and New York Jets talk again
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the two teams have started up talks once again to make a trade over Rodgers. The two sides aren’t ready to strike a deal just yet, but they hope to conclude the trade this week.
After a dormant couple weeks, the #Jets and #Packers recently re-engaged on trade talks surrounding star QB Aaron Rodgers, sources say. A deal is not imminent, but the two sides are at least talking — with hopes a deal can (finally) be done this week.

Jets need to act for Aaron Rodgers soon
We’ll see if they can get the job done by Friday, when the Packers could have a chance to draft three players in the second round. The Jets need to make a deal happen this week to make sure they can land Rodgers. If the Packers don’t trade Rodgers before the draft, they may as well ride out a trade until after June 1 to save on cap space for 2023. By then, there could be several more teams that would be willing to trade for Rodgers.

They aren’t getting a first or both second rounders this year. 43rd pick this year. And either a 2nd or 4th next year depending on if Rodgers plays 2 years or 1
Jets are not giving up a first or second rounder this year. Maybe a third this year and a 2025 conditional first if Jets are in Super Bowl that’s it. Take it or leave it Pack.
