The Green Bay Packers kick off OTAs this week. This is the first time that organized activity has started for the entire team. It is always interesting to see who shows up to these events as they are often not mandatory but many contracts have financial incentives for showing up. One player who was reportedly in attendance will make Packers fans happy. According to sources, Rashan Gary is in attendance at OTAs.

Green Bay Packers Rashan Gary Attending OTAs
Gary is recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered midseason in 2022. Modern ACL injuries have not been as long of a recovery as they have been in the past. However, every player is different. Some players take longer to heal than others. The news has been optimistic about Gary but seeing him attending team activities should make fans excited. While he could still be recovering. the fact that he is reportedly in attendance shows that he is recovering well. The Packers need him back as soon as possible to help fill out the rotation of pass-rushers. Preston Smith, Lukas Van Ness, Kingsley Enagbare, and Gary will make up a pretty scary group for the opposing offense.

Leadership
One aspect that many will overlook is Gary’s leadership. Last year, Gary really came into his own and I would not be surprised if his attendance is more about his leadership role rather than how his recovery is going. Showing the team that he is ready to put in the work will do wonders for the many young players on this roster. With a looming extension, Gary is slated to be a defensive leader on this team for the next half-decade. It is awesome to see him take the team seriously.
The Green Bay Packers would love to have Gary back as soon as possible. As the Jordan Love era begins, it is even more pivotal than the defense helps the offense out.
