The players on the Green Bay Packers team pay attention to free agency just as much as the fans do. Possibly even more so. The 2023 off-season has been wild so far for the Packers organization, and it could be far from over. Multiple players currently under contract through (at least) the 2023 season want to see the Green Bay Packers sign one specific player.
Keisean Nixon and Rasul Douglas Both Take To Social Media Demanding TE Marcedes Lewis Come Back In 2023

I Only Got 1 Wish Greenbay Bring 89 Back🤞🏾🏁

Despite drafting two tight ends in the 2023 NFL Draft, re-signing Lewis would make a lot of sense. Along with his dominant blocking ability that would help a young offense, Lewis could also help rookies Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft adapt from the college game. Lewis also remains a viable red-zone target, something that QB Jordan Love would benefit greatly from.
For all of Lewis’ talent on the field, one of his greatest assets is his leadership. Rasul Douglas made that known his in response to Keisean Nixon’s tweet. Having a few experienced veterans to lean on would help the younger players on offense. The Packers have that in David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, and even Aaron Jones. However, bringing back Lewis, a great leader with 17 years of NFL experience, is something you can’t pass up.
