The 2024 Green Bay Packers are looking to build on their late season success from last season. After winning seven of their final 10 games, the team was able to clinch the seventh and final seed in the NFC Playoffs. After upsetting the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round, they fell to the San Francisco 49ers in their Divisional Playoff game.
Certainly, the goal for 2024 is to go even further in the NFL Playoffs, which would mean an appearance in the NFC Championship Game and, hopefully, the Super Bowl. Green Bay has not appeared in the Conference Championship since the 2020 season, a game which they lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While they lost the game, a bright spot for the team was wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who caught four passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling Lef to Play for the Kansas City Chiefs

After the 2021 NFL season, the Packers decided not to re-sign Valdes-Scantling. He then went on to sign a three-year $30 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In two seasons with the Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling won two Super Bowl rings. While not a big go-to wide receiver, his speed stretched defenses allowing more room for other pass catchers, including tight end Travis Kelce, to run rampant.
Valdes-Scantling continued to show up in big games, however, when needed the most. In the 2022 AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.
This past postseason, he had two major catches for 62 yards in the Chiefs’ win over the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. In the Super Bowl, he had three catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Despite these heroics, Kansas City released him to save money on the salary cap.

Valdes Scantling was originally a fifth round pick (174th overall) by the Packers in the 2018 NFL Draft. During his four seasons in Green Bay, he recorded 186 receptions for 3,155 yards and 16 touchdowns.
His best season came in 2020 when he had 33 receptions for 690 yards and six touchdowns. That season, he also led the NFL with 20.9 yards per reception.
Unfortunately, his time in Green Bay was also marred by dropped passes. In his first three seasons, he had 15 dropped passes. However in 2021, his final year with the Packers, he did not drop a single pass.
