In Week 10 of the NFL season, the Green Bay Packers will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. A win would be a major boost for the Packers (3-5) as they try to start a winning streak in order to get back into the playoff contention. Within their own conference, the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) are attempting to keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens (7-2) who are sitting atop their division.
Injuries are bound to occur as the NFL season enters the second half. As Sunday approaches, however, the Steelers’ defense suffered a few significant losses.
Former Green Bay Packers Third-Round Draft Pick Montravius Adams Loses Opportunity To Return To Lambeau Field
It was in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, which saw Adams drafted by the Green Bay Packers with the 93rd overall pick. His rookie contract was signed on July 5, 2017.
During the first week of training camp, he sustained a stress fracture in the foot that required surgery in August. He missed the entire preseason as a result of the surgery. The first sack of Adams’ career came on November 11, 2018, when he tackled Miami Dolphins quarterback Brock Osweiler.
Before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers, Adams spent time with the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints. His playing career in Green Bay spanned 45 games, with three of them being starts. According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk:
Fitzpatrick has been ruled out of Sunday’s matchup with the Packers due to a hamstring injury. While head coach Mike Tomlin hinted Fitzpatrick might be able to make his way back to practice this week, Fitzpatrick ended up as a non-participant for all three days.
While defensive lineman Cam Heyward (groin) was limited on Wednesday and didn’t practice on Thursday, he has no game status and is slated to play. He was also limited in Friday’s session.
Defensive tackle Montravius Adams (ankle) is also out after he didn’t practice this week.
Linebacker Elandon Roberts (knee) is set to play. Nick Herbig (calf) was added to the injury report on Friday as a limited participant, but he’s also set to play.
Fans React To Adams Not Being Able To Play Again At Lambeau Field
Fans were undoubtedly upset that Adams wouldn’t be able to go in Week 10. During the course of this season, Adams has started each of the team’s eight games. He’s averaged 2.6 combined tackles per game and forcing a fumble to cap his efforts. The overall defensive grade Adams received per PFF ranks him 11th out of the 14 Pittsburgh defenders who have played 200+ snaps in 2023.
