When the Green Bay Packers selected tight end Luke Musgrave with the No. 42 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, fans didn’t know what to expect. Musgrave had some health issues during his college career and hadn’t put up consistent production. However, just one year in, the Packers have to be ecstatic about their choice.
Musgrave immediately came in and took control of the starting tight end job. While he did suffer a fairly serious kidney injury and missed some time, he put together a great rookie season.
As a whole, the Packers’ offense is set up very nicely for the future. Led by Jordan Love, Green Bay boasts the youngest team in the entire NFL. Add to that the Packers making the playoffs against all odds and things look even brighter.

Musgrave’s route-running ability was fantastic all season long. He was the perfect security blanket for Love when the Packers needed a big play. Tucker Kraft also came on strong late in the season as a receiving tight end.
When all was said and done for the 2023 regular season, Musgrave ended up catching 34 passes for 352 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. His future is extremely bright.
Hopefully, Musgrave will be able to continue his impressive play into the playoffs. Green Bay has a tough matchup on the schedule against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
